The event which will be held for the eighth time in Coeur d'Alene will take place on Sunday, June 27.

News Symbol  Pontano and Stewart Win at Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene

– Francisco Pontano and Tyler Stewart took the titles today at the 2009 Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene. Pontano dominated the men’s race to take his second Ironman title, his first win taking place at the 2008 Ford Ironman Lake Placid. Stewart won her first Ironman title setting new bike and overall course records.

News Symbol  International Field to Compete at Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene

It will be a truly international professional field that will vie for the titles at the 2009 Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene. The men’s field will be led by five-time Ironman champion Bryan Rhodes of New Zealand along with Germany’s Maximilian Longrée and American TJ Tollakson. The women’s field will include defending champion Canadian Heather Wurtele and Australia’s Kate Major.

2009 Amica Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island Shuttle Tickets

Shuttle buses to/from the swim venue from downtown Providence. Tickets are one-way for athletes and round-trip for family/friends.

On race morning leave your vehicle at your hotel or park in one of the various downtown public parking lots and walk to the Francis and Hayes Street for boarding. Buses will depart promptly, so please arrive at least 10 minutes early.

Race Day Shuttle Schedule

  • 4:00 a.m. – Shuttle buses depart downtown Providence
  • 5:00 a.m. –buses arrive Roger Wheeler State Beach
  • 6:00 a.m. – Race Start
  • 8:30 a.m. – Buses with spectators depart Roger Wheeler State Beach
  • 9:30 a.m. – Buses arrive in downtown Providence
  • 10:00 a.m. – First finisher expected

Ticket Prices

  • Athletes and spectators ages 15 & over - $8.00
  • Spectators ages 3-14 - $5.00
  • Spectators ages 2 & under (seated on adult’s lap) - Free

Limit 4 tickets per person

Please assist us in planning for the proper number of buses by purchasing your ticket(s) no later than June 12, 2009. There are a limited number of buses in the region, so it is important that you book your seat(s) early.
